First Interviews

Step 1 (10 min)

  • Students discuss the interview with 2 colleagues from the same group to make sure everyone understood the problem and the solution(s);
  • Form pairs with one student from group A and another from group B;
  • If you haven't finished the pre-interview or prefer not to participate in this interview, you can be a shadow interviewer.

Step 2 (50 min)

  • Interview A
  • Take a picture of the solution

Step 3 (50 min)

  • Interview B
  • Take a picture of the solution

Tips for the interviewer

Poker face

Help

  • As little as possible, but not less;
  • Let the interviewee lead the conversation;
  • Help them if they are stuck or too far from the solution.

Complexity

  • Don't question the interviewee's answer;
  • If they need help, discuss it, but don't give out the answer.

Shadow Interviewer

  • Watch both interviews and take notes (as much as you can);
  • You should avoid talking to the interviewee, but you can talk to the interviewer.
